Googles New Location Targeting Interface

by admin. Average Reading Time: about a minute.

Google has changed their Adwords location targeting interface. Google hopes to enhance the experience of their advertisers, and allow them to have more targeted campaigns. When you log into Adwords, you will now be able to pick a location that you want to target. It will give you the different locations, and other locations that are close to a particular location (state, city). Along with adding locations, you can also exclude locations and even search for nearby locations to the locations that you picked.

On your Campaign Settings tab in your Adwords interface you will now be able to pick a location that you want to target. It will give you the location and other matches that are near the location, the state that it’s located in, and other related locations near to the location that you have entered. It will even put up locations near your location with the same name in case you have misspelled anything or there is another city close to it with the same name.

The new Adwords interface also has a map of the different locations, along with recommendations for cities that could be targeted in your campaign. When you have picked the locations for your campaign, everything you selected will be shaded in blue. Along with what you selected, you will also see a lighter shade of blue showing related areas that they recommend to you that can also be added. Advertisers can also utilize the new targeting interface to get an estimate how many people their ad will target for the particular locations that they chose.

Google is steadily adding many tools that are useful to advertisers, with this one definitely being one of my favorites.
